News Platform for Change has appeared before the Assembly Executive and Review Committee to discuss its submission on the d'Hondt rule, communal designation and opposition, which was well received. Alongside our 2012 submission this amounts to a rounded structural reform package to take us beyond--rather than row back from--the achievements of 1998. Trevor Ringland has written a paper on the vexed issue of dealing with Northern Ireland's troubled past. It steers a clear course through the moral maze and offers concrete proposals on the way ahead. Platform for Change has responded to the call by an assembly committee for evidence on the number of MLAs and departments. It submission urges a more comprehensive governance review to provide a government that works. Platform for Change says the draft Programme for Government from the devolved executive fails to grasp the political nettles. Read our alternative programme here and our response to the draft programme here. Former Irish rugby star and Platform for Change activist Trevor Ringland offers his wide experience on how sport can point the way to a Northern Ireland beyond sectarianism, marked instead by the interdependence that brings team success. Read Trevor's paper here. What do Platform for Change supporters want? A report from our membership survey is available here.
